Hundred-Syllable Mantra
The Hundred-Syllable Mantra of Vajrasattva is one of the central purification practices of the Tibetan tradition, recited to clear karmic imprints and restore clarity of mind.
In practice it accompanies the four movements of purification: acknowledging a mistake, the intention not to repeat it, the practice itself, and the resolve that follows.
Sources
The term is rooted in the canonical sutras and traditional commentaries of Mahayana and Tibetan Buddhism, where it is treated as a contemplative method for training the mind rather than an object of belief.
